Mindstorm Studios, through its initiative M-Labs has embarked on a mission to catalyze game building in Pakistan. Our primary focus is to help the industry level up by sharing knowledge and grooming talent through various learning and exposure opportunities for the country’s youth who are passionate about game building. In order to fulfill this task, M-Labs started a 2 months long Summer Internship Program back in 2020, tailored specifically for students to cover different facets of game development such as Game Design, Game Programming and Game Arts.
Through our M-Labs initiative, over the past two years, we have worked very closely with students and universities. 2 major hurdles faced by multiple universities all across Pakistan was the shortage of teachers equipped with the essential knowledge of game building, along with curriculum design.For that reason, we are developing course content along with our partner universities. This year, we are also launching our Training of Teachers (ToT) program in which university teachers from all across Pakistan will be invited and trained on the essentials of game building, game programming, arts and design. This program will be conducted online and coincides with our internship program. We are inviting your teachers to be trained and we would like it if you could nominate your teachers to be a part of it. This is a 2-month program that will have a curriculum, special lectures and teachers will be provided individual support from industry professionals, should they require it. Our office will also be open for the teachers for the entirety of the program should they prefer to visit the office and have a chance to interact with industry professionals. We believe this step is essential for the practical implementation of the course content and also help us better understand this from an academic perspective. This will be a step in the right direction to develop the game building ecosystem in Pakistan.
